What is the service fee of Trade Assurance?

The Trade Assurance service is free for buyers, Alibaba.com will not charge you.
Please note that you need to pay a small processing fee to the bank when you make a payment. The processing fee varies by payment method, please refer to the table below:

Please note that for the Trade Assurance order placed via "Buy now", there is currently no processing fee for Visa, MasterCard or e-Checking.

Note:
1. If you are charged more than the above fees, please check with your bank if they also deduct fees when you pay.
2. Since the transaction fees are charged by the bank, there is no document or invoice for the fees.

How do I make the initial payment for my Trade Assurance order?

Check that the order details are correct, then make the initial payment by performing the following steps:

1）Please login to My Alibaba.

2）Go to ‘All Orders’ under the Orders section.

3）Click View More to check the order details..

4）If the Trade Assurance order was placed via "Buy now", check that the order details are correct and click Go to pay.

If the Trade Assurance order was not placed via "Buy now", click Send Initial Payment:

5) Choose a payment method. There are three methods available:

Telegraphic Transfer
Credit Card (Visa and Mastercard)
e-Checking

Note that Telegraphic Transfer is not available for all Trade Assurance orders. If you need to use one particular payment method, please discuss this with your supplier at the initial stage of contract drafting.

6) Follow the onscreen instructions to make the payment. We suggest that you make the payment in USD.

Note that your payment will not be held by Alibaba.com. The supplier will receive the payment as soon as the bank transfer is complete – the time required varies from bank to bank. If you pay by credit card, it usually takes 2-4 working days for payment confirmation. If you pay by Telegraphic Transfer, it usually takes 3-7 working days for the money to be transferred. If you pay by e-Checking, the payment requires 4-5 working days after the payment request has been sent to your bank.
